Job description

Primary Purpose of Position

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication is accepting applications for part‑time instructors for the Fall 2026 semester. Part‑time instructors are hired on a semester‑by‑semester basis to teach mass media courses in radio and television broadcasting, production, writing, producing, and reporting. The maximum teaching load is three courses per semester.

Responsibilities

• Teach mass media courses, including Introduction to Radio & Digital Audio Production, Introduction to Video Production, Advanced Audio and Video Production, Electronic News Writing, and Electronic Reporting and Producing.
• Work closely with the TV Studio Director and General Manager of WNAA 90.1 FM.
• Participate in curriculum development and assessment activities.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry practices and technologies.
• Other duties as assigned, as part of a non‑permanent, temporary position.

Minimum Requirements

• Master's degree in Communication or a closely related discipline at the time of application.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

• 1–3 years of teaching experience at the university or community college level.
• 3–5 years of industry experience in broadcasting.
