Job summary

CSN is seeking a part-time Engineering Technology Instructor to deliver lecture and lab instruction across Engineering Technology courses at North Las Vegas, Henderson and Western Campuses. Teaching is conducted in-person or online with day, evening, and weekend offerings.

The role requires 5 years of work-related experience or an Applied Science degree in Engineering Technologies, plus a Bachelor's degree for preferred qualifications. Safety and student advising are part of the duties.

Qualifications

• Five years of work-related experience or equivalent.
• Applied Science degree in Engineering Technologies or equivalent degree.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university (preferred).
• One year full-time teaching experience (preferred).
• Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce (preferred).
• Knowledge of computer classroom technologies (preferred).
• Knowledge of Canvas or other Learning Management Systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lecture and/or lab instruction for Engineering Technology courses.
• Demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures and safety.
• Develop syllabi and course materials; align with curriculum standards and objectives.
• Independently evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies.
• Provide advisement to students.
• Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested.

Responsibilities of a Part Time Engineering Technology Instructor include but are not limited to:

• Lecture and or Lab instruction for Engineering Technology, Mechanical Technology, and or Technical Physics courses
• Demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures and ensure adherence to safety precautions
• Develop syllabi and course materials. Instruct students in accordance with curriculum standards and objectives
• Independently evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes. Make necessary provisions to meet learning needs
• Provide advisement to students
• Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested

Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of work-related experience
• OR
• Applied Science degree in Engineering Technologies or equivalent degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College/University
• 1 year full time teaching experience
• Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce

Schedule

Engineering Technology courses are taught at North Las Vegas, Henderson and Western Campuses, in-person/ online and are scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends

Salary Information

$925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
