Job summary

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a Part-Time Slot Technology Instructor for FY 2027. Courses are taught at North Las Vegas, Henderson, and Western Campuses, in-person and online, with day, evening, and weekend offerings.

Responsibilities include lecturing and lab work on slot technology, developing syllabi, evaluating student mastery, advising on careers, and maintaining equipment. Compensation is $925.00 per lecture credit hour, with credits varying by semester.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of work-related experience OR Applied Science degree in Engineering Technologies or equivalent degree.
  • Experience with diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
  • Knowledge of Canvas or other Learning Management Systems.

  • Demonstrate and assist students with hands-on lab procedures, ensuring safety.
  • Develop syllabi and course materials; instruct students per curriculum standards and program objectives.
  • Evaluate student mastery of technical skills and competencies; implement strategies to support learning needs.
  • Provide advisement regarding academic progression and career pathways within the gaming and electronics industry.
  • Maintain and support laboratory equipment to ensure effective instructional delivery.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in recruitment and outreach activities.

Job description

Part - Time Instructor, Slot Technology - FY 2027

Responsibilities of a Part-Time Slot Technology Instructor include but are not limited to:

  • Lecture and/or lab instruction for Slot Technology courses, including slot machine systems, electronics, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate and assist students with hands‑on lab procedures related to slot machines and electronic gaming equipment, ensuring adherence to all safety precautions.
  • Develop syllabi and course materials; instruct students in accordance with established curriculum standards, industry practices, and program objectives.
  • Independently evaluate student mastery of technical skills and competencies aligned with course outcomes; implement strategies to support student learning needs.
  • Provide advisement to students regarding academic progression and career pathways within the gaming and electronics industry.
  • Maintain and support laboratory equipment, including slot machines and associated electronic systems, to ensure effective instructional delivery.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in recruitment and outreach activities as requested.
Required Qualifications
  • 5 years of work-related experience OR Applied Science degree in Engineering Technologies or equivalent degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College/University.
  • 1‑year full‑time teaching experience.
  • Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
  • Knowledge of computer classroom technologies.
  • Knowledge of Canvas or other Learning Management Systems.
Schedule and Locations

Engineering Technology courses are taught at North Las Vegas, Henderson, and Western Campuses, in‑person/online and are scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends.

Compensation

$925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
