Job summary

College of Southern Nevada is seeking a Part‑Time Slot Technology Instructor to teach Slot Technology courses and support laboratory activities at North Las Vegas campuses. The role includes lecturing, hands-on lab work with slot machines and electronic gaming equipment, and developing course materials to meet curriculum standards.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of relevant work experience or an Applied Science degree in Engineering Technologies, with preference for a Bachelor’s degree,

Qualifications

  • 5 years of work-related experience OR an Applied Science degree in Engineering Technologies or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university is preferred.
  • 1 year of full-time teaching experience is preferred.
  • Experience with diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce is desired.
  • Knowledge of computer classroom technologies and Canvas or other LMS is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Lecture and/or provide lab instruction for Slot Technology courses, including slot machine systems, electronics, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate and assist students with hands-on lab procedures related to slot machines and electronic gaming equipment, ensuring safety precautions are observed.
  • Develop syllabi and course materials; instruct students in accordance with established curriculum standards, industry practices, and program objectives.
  • Independently evaluate student mastery of technical skills and competencies aligned with course outcomes and implement strategies to support student learning needs.
  • Provide advisement to students regarding academic progression and career pathways within the gaming and electronics industry.
  • Maintain and support laboratory equipment, including slot machines and associated electronic systems, to ensure effective instructional delivery.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in recruitment and outreach activities as requested.

Schedule & Compensation

Engineering Technology courses are taught at North Las Vegas, Henderson, and Western Campuses, in‑person or online, and are scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends. Compensation is $925.00 per lecture credit hour, with credits varying by semester. Applications are considered on an as‑needed basis determined by course availability.
