Job summary

College of Southern Nevada seeks a part-time Instructor for DOT Transportation at its Las Vegas campus. You will inspect commercial vehicles, verify regulatory compliance, and support NBIS bridge inspection activities while documenting findings and communicating clearly with drivers and the public.

The role requires NV CVSA Inspector Certification, NBIS Bridge Inspection Certification, and OSHA/HazMat/ELD-HOS training. Prior experience with FMCSR and digital reporting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold Nevada CVSA Inspector Certification and NBIS Bridge Inspection Certification.
• Must possess NV DOT Level I-III Inspector Credentials.
• HazMat Endorsement for placarding checks.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training.
• ELD/HOS Verification Training required.
• FAA awareness modules may be required if assigned.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections aligned with FMCSR, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Verify Hours of Service, ELD data, permits, and hazardous materials placarding.
• Support roadways, pavement, and NBIS bridge inspection activities.

Job Description

Ensures public safety and regulatory compliance by inspecting commercial vehicles, transportation infrastructure, and operational practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections aligned with FMCSR, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
