The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a Part-Time EMS Instructor for FY 2027. The instructor will teach EMS courses, plan and organize lessons, and guide student learning in alignment with CSN's values and goals.

  • The instructor teaches in disciplines with training and competence and plans, organizes, and teaches to promote academic growth.
  • Promotes and directs successful student learning in line with the school's learning-centered goals.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a maximum of 9 instructional units per academic year (not including summer).
  • Spend a minimum of 10 hours per week on class prep and curriculum revision/development.
  • Allocate at least 5 hours per week on average for professional development and/or service as specified by the Faculty Evaluation Policy.
  • May teach up to 9 instructional units during the summer semester.
  • Follow all program and school policies and ensure students are aware of and follow all policies.
  • Maintain all course records (syllabi, outlines, grades, attendance, etc.).

Job Description

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) emergency medical services(EMS) instructor must meet the qualifications of the SouthernNevada Health Department guidelines and the requirementsestablished by the State of Nevada.

The college professor/instructor teaches in discipline areas inwhich he or she has specific training and competence. As such, theinstructor is expected to plan, organize, and teach in a mannerthat encourages academic growth. He or she also promotes anddirects successful student learning in keeping with thelearning-centered values and goals of the school.

Organizational Relationships

The Part- Time EMS Instructor reports to the EMS Program Directorwithin the School of Health Sciences, as well as the DepartmentChair, and the Dean of Health Sciences
