Job summary

College of Southern Nevada is seeking a Part-Time Instructor in Clinical Laboratory Sciences (FY2027) to teach courses across clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, transfusion medicine and phlebotomy. Assignments may be on campus or online, mornings, afternoons or evenings, and located at CSN campuses in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, or outreach sites.

Applicants must hold CLS certification appropriate to the course(s) and have at least one year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• CLS certification commensurate with assigned course(s).
• Minimum one-year clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Clinical Laboratory Sciences such as clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, transfusion medicine, and phlebotomy.
• Prepare students for national Phlebotomy, MLS, and MLT certifications.
• Oversee specialty lab areas and classrooms; collaborate with CLS faculty to develop courses and select textbooks.

Job Description

Applications will be considered on an as‑needed basis determinedby department need. This position may close early if the hiringneed is filled or do to volume of applications received.

Instructor will teach courses in subject matter pertaining to Clinical Laboratory Sciences.

• Teaching includes, but is not limited to, clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, transfusion medicine, and or phlebotomy.
• Teaching assignments will be courses that prepare students for national Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory Scientist, and Medical Laboratory Technician certifications.
• Assigned courses, days, times and/or locations may vary from semester to semester.
• Assignments may be any combination of classroom and online modes.
• Assignments may be located on any combination of CSN's several campuses.
• Assignments may be any combination of morning, afternoon and evening hours.
• Assignments may be any combination of any days of the week including weekends.
• Assignments may be any combination of courses for which instructor is qualified.
• Leadership may include, but not be limited to, any of the following.
• Oversee specialty lab areas and classrooms.
• Collaborate with other CLS faculty in developing courses and selecting textbooks.

Required Qualifications

• CLS certification commensurate with assigned course(s).
• Minimum one‑year clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Major, minor, or advanced degree from a regionally accredited college or university with MLS or MLT.
• Experience using the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
• Experience working with a diverse workforce and/or student body.

Salary Information

$925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.

$57.81 per lab credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
