Job summary

College of Southern Nevada seeks an Part-Time Instructor in Veterinary Nursing for FY 2027 to teach didactic courses and laboratories, supervise clinical rotations, and support campus scheduling. Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or relevant degree with Nevada license or eligible.
• Current Nevada veterinary license or veterinary technician license (NV).
• Two years of professional experience in clinical practice or academic setting.

Responsibilities

• Advise students as needed and instruct didactic courses and laboratories.
• Supervise students on clinical rotations as assigned by the Program Director.
• Perform clinical duties in the CSN Veterinary Nursing Teaching Clinic and maintain student records.
• Engage in continuing professional development to stay current.
• Participate in AVMA-CVTEA accreditation activities and college committees.
• Support multi-campus scheduling including day, evening, or weekend classes.
• Contribute to curriculum development and service to the institution and community.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

• Advise students as needed.
• Instruct veterinary didactic courses, laboratories andsupervise students on clinical rotations as assigned by the ProgramDirector.
• Perform clinical duties as required in the CSN VeterinaryNursing Teaching Clinic.
• Maintain student records, i.e., grades, attendance, exams,assignments, competencies, etc.
• Maintain current knowledge of general veterinary medicineprocedures and techniques through continuing professionaldevelopment.
• Participate in AVMA-CVTEA accreditation activities to supportthe continuing accreditation of the Veterinary Nursing program atCSN.
• Participate in program, department, school, and college-widecommittees.
• Assignments may be multi-campus with the possibility of day,evening, and/or weekend classes.
• Additional related duties include academic advising, curriculumdevelopment, and service to the institution andcommunity.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, OR Bachelor of Science inVeterinary Technology or Nursing, OR Associate degree inveterinary technology or nursing from an accredited College/University.
• Must be currently licensed as a veterinarian OR aveterinary technician (nurse) in the State of Nevada.
• 2 years professional experience as a Doctor of VeterinaryMedicine in clinical practice OR in an academic setting oras a veterinary nurse in clinical practice.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching experience in veterinary medicine.
• Previous teaching experience in higher education.
• 1 year of experience teaching at a communitycollege.
• Experience teaching and/or working with a diverse/multiculturalstudent body and/or workforce.
• Experience with curriculum development.
• Experience teaching online courses.
• Demonstrated knowledge of course and classroommanagement.
• Experience developing and implementing field trips forundergraduates to local/regional areas of interest.

Salary

$925.00 per credit hour. Courses/Credits assigned may vary by semester.
