Job summary

New Jersey Tutoring Corps, Inc. is seeking an Instructional Coach to oversee tutor performance and program logistics across embedded school-site tutoring operations in Lyndhurst, NJ.

The role requires coaching/leadership experience, teaching background, and the ability to coordinate with district and community partners. Hours are part-time, with up to 29 hours weekly, and a program end date of April 30th.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education preferred.
• Standard certificate, CE, or CEAS.
• Proven coaching experience in the public or charter school system.
• Experience teaching.
• Experience supervising staff and giving feedback.
• NJ Criminal History/PA clearances if working across PA site.
• Experience with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms).
• Willing to use private devices or company loaner when needed.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with site staff and partners.
• Ensure tutors have necessary materials for scholar success.
• Complete on-the-job training checklists for supervised tutors and review lesson plans.
• Submit digital attendance records, scholar rosters, and site concerns.
• Participate in weekly coaching meetings with Tutors.
• Manage Tutor work schedules.
• Notify Program Manager of staff issues and assist in resolution.
• Review Tutor performance and provide guidance.
• Observe tutoring sessions and give constructive feedback.
• Assist tutors with data-driven instruction using iReady.
• Provide coverage when a tutor is absent.
