Riverview Gardens School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time, 10-month position supports classrooms, assists with instructional programs, and helps with daily activities.

Starting immediately, successful candidates must meet Missouri substitute certification requirements and complete a background check. The role involves working with teachers, supervising students, and assisting with records and displays.

Qualifications

• To become an Instructional Assistant (Paraprofessional) must meet one of the listed substitute certification options.
• Ability and personality to work with colleagues, teachers, and other staff.
• Successful completion of a background check by Human Resources.

Responsibilities

• Assists with instructional programs and general school operations.
• Participates in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning.
• Conducts learning exercises with small groups of children.
• Guides children in working and playing harmoniously with other children.
• Alerts the teacher to the special needs of individual children.
• Provides escorts assistance for children as necessary.
• Helps maintain informal student performance records.
• Assists teacher(s) in maintaining student work and study areas.
• Assists with the supervision of children during play periods.
• Collects and displays suitable material for educational displays.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
