Job summary

Parkway Schools in Missouri seeks a full-time Teaching Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. This one-year position supports full-time teachers by reinforcing lessons and assisting with reading intervention under the guidance of a certified teacher.

Applicants must have either 36 college credit hours with official transcripts or substitute teacher training with a high school diploma (GED/HISET). A DESE Substitute Certification is required before employment, and starting pay is $17.38 per hour

Qualifications

• Must have DESE Substitute Certification before you are able to work.
• Either 36 college credit hours or substitute teacher training with HS diploma (or GED/HISET).
• The position supports reading intervention and reinforces classroom lessons.

Responsibilities

• Support reading intervention programs 1:1 and in small groups.
• Assist certified staff with instructional and clerical tasks.
• Supervise classrooms in emergencies and monitor students during activities.
• Provide tutorial assistance and reinforcement activities following direct instruction.
• Assist in preparation of instructional materials and behavior management tasks.
