Job summary

OU Medicine is recruiting a Part-Time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for inpatient neurology in Oklahoma City. The APP (APRN or PA-C) will perform history and physicals, order tests, and develop care plans.

Responsibilities include patient education, care coordination and collaboration with the medical team. Graduates from accredited nursing or PA programs with current Oklahoma licenses are eligible; prescriptive authority within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing if APRN; MSN or Master’s in Physician Assistant Services.
• Experience: No experience required.
• Licensure: Active RN and APRN license in Oklahoma or PA license with NCCPA certification.
• Knowledge/Abilities: Strong clinical knowledge, communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Clinical: Performs history and physical assessments; orders and interprets diagnostic tests; develops and alters care plans; maintains EMR documentation.
• Patient Care: Delivers patient- and family-centered care; coordinates with care teams; educates patients and families.
• Communication: Interacts with physicians, nurses and other health professionals; counsels patients.
• Activities: Participates in education of students and staff; contributes to quality initiatives.
• General: Performs other duties as assigned.
