Job summary

The City of High Point is seeking a part‑time IT support specialist for the Police Department. This role focuses on equipment lifecycle tasks, imaging, deployments, and routine support, enabling full‑time staff to handle higher priority projects and complex troubleshooting.

Ideal candidates will understand Windows PCs, asset tracking, and deployment procedures, with strong organization and customer service skills. On‑site work at the High Point location is required.

  • Maintain and update IT asset tracking and assignment records.
  • Image and configure devices using standard procedures.
  • Prepare equipment for deployment, including labeling and readiness verification.
  • Support workstation setups and office moves (disconnect, reconnect, testing).
  • Assist with vehicle equipment assignment tracking and documentation.
  • Perform routine ticket follow‑ups, status updates, and documentation maintenance.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders for scheduling pickups, drops‑offs, swaps, and deployments.

What You'll Do

Provides part‑time operational support for Police Department IT functions, focusing on equipment lifecycle tasks, inventory accuracy, imaging, deployments, and routine support follow‑up. This role enhances day‑to‑day operations, allowing full‑time technical staff to focus on higher‑priority projects, escalations, and complex troubleshooting.

Essential Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update IT asset tracking and assignment records.
  • Image and configure new and redeployed devices using standard procedures.
  • Prepare equipment for deployment, including accessories, labeling, and readiness verification.
  • Support workstation setups and office moves (disconnect, reconnect, testing).
  • Assist with vehicle equipment assignment tracking and documentation.
  • Perform routine ticket follow‑up, status updates, and documentation maintenance.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders for scheduling pickups, drop‑offs, swaps, and deployments.
