Job summary

City of Port Huron is hiring a part-time Income Tax Clerk to support the Income Tax Division. You will perform mail handling, W2 processing with CityTax software, filing, and general office duties while delivering courteous public service.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Hours approximate 25 per week, and compensation is $16.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Retrieving, opening and sorting incoming mail.
• Preparing and mailing outgoing correspondence, and distributing mail to internal departments.
• Enter and process employer W2 forms using CityTax software.
• Filing, copying and scanning documentation.
• Maintaining records and files to stay up-to-date and accessible.
• Assist with office management and organization.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Greet the public politely and professionally.
• Answer inquiries from the general public regarding the Income Tax Division.
• Provide excellent customer service and interact with the public tactfully.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and teamwork.
• Utilize Word, Excel and internet as needed.
• Operate office equipment (phone, voicemail, copier, scanner).
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Work independently to solve problems.
• Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
• Demonstrate patience, professionalism and dependability.
