Job summary

Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun, experienced substitute violin instructor to teach part-time in-person at Pacific Piano School in San Jose, CA. Successful candidates will have a strong music background and a degree in violin performance (Bachelor's required, Master's preferred). MTAC membership and/or Certificate of Merit experience is a plus.

Instructor pay is $40–$48 per hour for private lessons. A 401(k) with employer matching is available after 30 days, and health benefits options exist

Qualifications

• Degree in violin performance; Bachelor’s required, Master’s preferred.
• Pedagogy experience in teaching string instruments.
• Performing experience as a violinist.
• Experience working with young musicians.
• Ability to pass routine background check.
• MTAC membership and/or Certificate of Merit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach violin lessons in-person as a substitute when regular teachers are out.
• Set availability within open hours; will be called as needed.
• Help students develop musical skills and techniques.
• Opportunity to advance to regular teacher based on performance and student demand.
