Overview

Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun, experienced, and professional violin instructor to teach part-time at Pacific Piano School in San Jose, CA. We are looking for teachers who will instruct IN PERSON!

Teachers can set their availability within our open hours as needed, but both students and school staff appreciate consistency and preference will be given to candidates with greater availability.

Responsibilities

Provide in-person violin instruction to students. Maintain consistency in scheduling. Demonstrate punctuality and professional conduct. Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff. Pass a routine background check as part of employment requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong music background evidenced by a degree in violin performance (Bachelor’s required, Master’s preferred).
• Pedagogy, performing experience, and a demonstrated love of teaching.
• Experience working with young musicians.
• Reliable transportation and ability to pass a routine background check.
• MTAC membership and/or Certificate of Merit experience preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Instructor pay is commensurate with experience and will be in the range of $40-48/hour for private lessons. A 401(K) program with employer matching is available to all employees after 90 days on the job. Health benefit packages are available for all part- and full-time employees at Ensemble.
