Job summary

Kings Education in New York is seeking a part-time or substitute ESL teacher to provide in-person English instruction to young adult and adult international students. The role supports students bound for US undergraduate and graduate programs.

You will plan lessons, use diverse teaching techniques, create weekly lesson plans, and assess progress with quizzes and writing assignments while integrating technology into the classroom.

Qualifications

• BA in English Language/TESOL or equivalent experience; MA degree preferred.
• Cultural sensitivity with experience teaching ESL to students from diverse backgrounds, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven classroom experience with a minimum of one year teaching.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience using technology in the classroom.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and provide in-person English language instruction to international students.
• Develop and deliver lessons using a broad range of teaching techniques and strategies.
• Create weekly lesson plans following established curricula supplemented with current materials.
• Maintain daily/weekly grade books for homework, quizzes, and journals and administer regular quizzes, exams, and writing assignments.
• Embrace and develop new ways of engaging students using technology.
