Part‑Time Teacher Temp
Teach English to international students at Kaplan International Central Park. Flexible schedule: 15–30 hours per week, starting as soon as the end of April.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Teach courses at any level using the KI curriculum as assigned.
- Maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and maximize student satisfaction.
- Advise and counsel students on academic performance and goals.
- Incorporate feedback from the Academic Director to improve teaching quality.
- Prepare lesson plans and submit them to the Academic Director.
- Accurately record attendance and student performance; submit rosters and Individual Student Reports (ISRs).
- Attend instructor meetings and in‑house workshops to enhance teaching skills.
- Use teaching technology (e.g., Smartboards) to enhance learning experience.
- Communicate absences to school staff; provide lesson plans and materials for substitutes.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent).
- Superior classroom engagement skills.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- TESOL, CELTA, TEFL certificate or 12+ months ESL/EFL teaching experience.
- Experience with international students and/or 2+ years of international teaching.
- Foreign language proficiency.

- Carrying, grasping, reaching.
- Visual acuity.
- Writing, speaking, listening.
Pay
- Hourly rate: $21.00–$25.00 (depending on experience) plus $500 sign‑on bonus after a specified period.
- Pay transparency (NYC guidelines): Average $23.27, minimum $21.00, maximum $26.12.
