Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a District Support Pharmacist (DSP) to support stores across the district, covering shifts and ensuring safe, accurate dispensing and patient counseling. You will travel within the district to fill pharmacist gaps under supervision, acting as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy when needed.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Responsibilities

• Live CVS Health’s purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator and serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy.
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and guarding patient safety.
• Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and coaching the pharmacy team to do the same.
• Proactively offer immunizations and support technicians to learn immunization techniques.
• Support inventory management with a focus on cold chain protection and efficient stock levels.
• Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs while upholding safety and inclusivity.
• Maintain clinical and technical skills through trainings and CMEs and expand knowledge to support patients.
• Support access to care and caregiver clinical services where permissible; collaborate with the healthcare team.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and CVS Health policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.
