Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time Radiologic Technologist for daytime shifts in Illinois. The role emphasizes patient safety, high-quality imaging, and efficient exam workflow within a patient‑first environment.

You will perform imaging procedures, maintain equipment readiness, and contribute to accurate documentation and safe practices. The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program with ARRT Radiography (R) certification and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• ARRT Radiography (R) credential.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post‑procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow-up through established service processes.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam setup, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
• Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
• Consistently upholds all applicable quality and safety standards within diagnostic imaging, such as radiation safety, MRI safety, infection prevention measures.
• Ensures a positive patient experience throughout care delivery.
• Supports department initiatives to improve relationships, reliability, efficiency, growth.
