Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for full-time daytime imaging in Palos Park, IL. You will perform diagnostic imaging using approved protocols, ensuring patient safety and high image quality.

Responsibilities include maintaining imaging-room readiness, documenting in medical records, and coordinating exam flow with attention to safety and compliance. ARRT Radiography (R) and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• ARRT Radiography (R) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam set-up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
• Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
• Upholds quality and safety standards within diagnostic imaging, such as radiation safety, MRI safety, Infection prevention measures.
