Job summary

Cooper University Health Care, based in Camden, NJ, is seeking a Critical Care Tech to join the Viner ICU team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role supports daily living activities and collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, vital signs, EKGs, catheter care, documenting findings, and reinforcing patient and family education. Part-time nights (7 pm–7:30 am) with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience required.
• High School/GED required.
• Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and active PCT certification required.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification required.
• CPCT-A certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support patients’ activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, transport) and follow standard precautions.
• Perform phlebotomy, monitor vital signs, conduct point-of-care testing, EKGs, and Foley catheter care; document appropriately.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN and respond appropriately, maintaining safe practices.
• Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and orientation of new hires.
• Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the due date.
• Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe environment and high-quality care.
• Maintain effective communication with patients and visitors.
