Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring part-time Scoopers for the Seaport ice cream shop in Manhattan, NY. The Scoopers are ambassadors bringing high standards and hospitality to life in every guest interaction, with a passion for ice cream.

Ideal candidates are self-starters who thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and can work at least three shifts per week, including late nights past 12 am. Base pay is $17 per hour with an average $7 per hour in tips.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Genuine passion for ice cream and desserts
• Possess dexterity to prepare and serve guests all menu items
• Adhere to service and build-out standards
• Able to push/pull/lift 50 lbs regularly
• Stand for extended periods of time
• Walk up and down stairs regularly
• Stand, bend and reach for prolonged periods
• Available to work 3 days a week (including nights and weekends past 12 am)
• Reliable, on time and ready for every shift
• Food handlers certificate required

Responsibilities

• Greet every guest warmly, with enthusiasm and genuine hospitality
• Scoop and serve guests all menu items while maintaining quality and presentation standards
• Educate guests on flavors, ingredients and special offerings
• Prepare all fresh, house made menu items daily
• Operate the Square POS System for a seamless guest checkout
• Follow all food safety procedures and sanitation guidelines
• Maintain store cleanliness and follow sanitation guidelines
• Complete daily tasks including stocking, inventory, and cleaning
• Follow Van Leeuwen’s safety, grooming, and conduct standards
