Job summary

Virginia Western Community College in Roanoke, VA seeks part-time HVAC instructors for Workforce Solutions to teach NCCER HVAC levels 1–4, evenings and online. Adjunct faculty appointments are course-by-course, semester-by-semester and require strong teaching and curriculum development skills.

Candidates should have 3–5 years HVAC experience, NCCER credentialing for electricity levels 1–4, and the ability to work with adult learners. Journeyman/master license is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of HVAC occupational experience.
• Credentialed as an NCCER instructor for electricity levels 1–4.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication; ability to write syllabi and exams.
• Ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum and assessments.
• Experience teaching adult learners; journeyman/master license desired.

Responsibilities

• Teach HVAC concepts following the NCCER Curriculum for levels 1–4.
• Prepare syllabi, exams, and assessments.
• Develop learning strategies and course curricula.
• Deliver evening and online instruction to diverse learners.
