Job summary

Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) seeks a part-time Mechanical Technology Instructor to lead HVAC and Plumbing courses at the Arnold/Main Campus. The instructor will deliver lab and theory-based instruction, follow the curriculum, assess progress, and support students in a hands-on learning environment.

Applicants should have journeyman or higher in HVAC and Plumbing, NEC code knowledge, safety awareness, a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least five years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Journeyman or higher in HVAC and Plumbing trade.
• Safety awareness and NEC code knowledge.
• Thorough knowledge of trade principles, terminology, tools and equipment.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials needed for course instruction, labs, testing, supplies.
• Provide basic lab maintenance and track inventory of equipment and tools utilized.
• Relate instruction and material to course objectives.
• Familiar with NEC code book as appropriate.
• Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety, personal safety and power/hand tool safety.
• Communicate effectively with students, other faculty and staff.
• Submit grades, attendance, reports and records in a timely manner
