Job summary

Fortis Institute in Port St Lucie, FL is seeking an energetic HVAC Instructor to join the faculty on a part-time basis. The primary responsibility is to teach HVAC/R courses and to provide academic advising to students.

Candidates should have completed an HVAC/R program with cert/diploma (associate degree preferred), EPA Universal, and at least three years of HVAC technician experience. Prior higher education teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an HVAC/R program with a certificate or diploma; an associate degree preferred.
• EPA Universal certification required; Florida HVAC Contractor License preferred.
• Three years of experience as an HVAC Technician.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, motivated and results-driven.
• Prior higher education/postsecondary teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach HVAC/R courses in the program.
• Provide academic advising to students.
• Participate in department trainings, meetings, and graduation.
