College of Southern Nevada invites applications for a Part‑Time Instructor in Air Conditioning Technology (FY2027). Courses may include day, evening, or weekend classes, with instruction and lab duties that align to course outcomes.

The position is considered on an as-needed basis based on course availability; salary is paid per credit hour. Posting closes 06/30/2027. Exempt: Yes. FTE: 48.8%.

Qualifications

• Background and experience in courses taught (Air Conditioning Technology).
• EPA Section 608 certification.
• HVAC Excellence, NATE or ICE certifications.
• 10 years of service experience in the Air Conditioning Industry.
• Knowledge of residential and commercial air conditioning, refrigeration, gas furnaces, essential plant operations, and building systems operations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to act effectively as a member of a team.
• Self-starter, creative, goal-oriented and organized.
• AAS in Air Conditioning Technology or similar.
• Experience teaching in a community college setting.
• Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
• Knowledge of computer classroom technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lecture and Lab instruction for Air Conditioning Technology courses.
• Develop syllabi, lesson plans, and course materials in conjunction with Lead Faculty.
• Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
• Provide an excellent teaching experience as well as student advisement, recruitment activities, and program/curriculum development.
