Job summary

The Amarillo VA Health Care System in Amarillo, Texas is seeking a part-time Physician (Hospitalist) to manage admissions, discharges, daily follow-ups and consults for hospital patients. This role includes eligibility for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), and requires board-eligible or board-certified internal medicine training and a current, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.

Applicants should have hospitalist experience and strong English communication skills, with teaching

Qualifications

• United States citizenship or eligibility per VA policy.
• MD or DO degree from an approved school.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Residency in a core specialty leading to board eligibility.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Support inpatient clinical practice for hospital patients.
• Evaluate patients, obtain data, and determine diagnoses and status.
• Prescribe treatment and perform indicated procedures.
• Maintain timely documentation and ensure patient safety.
• Mentor residents and coordinate educational activities.
