Job summary

Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, is seeking a part-time Security Officer for a hospital setting in Baltimore, MD. You will patrol, monitor, and respond to incidents, delivering courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining a visible, safety-focused presence.

You will work with flexible shifts, build a personalized schedule, and use our Claim a Shift platform to explore roles.

Qualifications

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
• Have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare/medical-related field.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, patient or visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, documenting incidents, unusual conditions, and policy violations in clear, accurate reports.
• Support a welcoming healthcare environment by providing directions, assisting with non-clinical requests, and communicating professionally with diverse populations.
