Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and lab specimen collections per age related standards and policies.
• Demonstrates AIDET and patient safety to reduce medical errors.
• Receives and reviews physician orders; enters orders in lab systems.
• Patient communication and post-phlebotomy patient care.
• Processes specimens ensuring stability and proper labeling, handling, and transport.
• Maintains equipment operation and follows up on orders and results.
• Notifies physicians of specimen issues and maintains a safe work environment.
