Job summary

State of New Hampshire is hiring a part-time Laundry Worker for the NH Hospital in Concord. The role runs 1st shift from 6:00am to 2:30pm with Sundays mandatory; other days are flexible. The position offers trainee status at a lower rate with progression to the standard pay range.

The job supports daily laundry operations, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and transport of linens, as well as safety and quality duties in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• 8th grade education or higher.
• Valid driver’s license.
• MVR must meet minimum standards with no major traffic violations.

Responsibilities

• Operate laundry machinery (washers, dryers, folders, presses) and report breakdowns or safety concerns.
• Transport linens to off-site service areas on campus as needed.
• Maintain supplies and restock area; inform supervisor when reordering is required.
• Sort, wash, dry, fold linen and clothing; check pockets and return valuables following procedures.
• Remove waste and clean the work area; follow safety and health standards.
• Assist with training new staff and report staff issues to supervisor.
• May assist in departmental meetings and assume temporary leadership in supervisor’s absence.
• Respond to emergencies during/after shifts as requested by administration.
