Qualifications

• Education/Experience: 8th grade education
• Preferred: Experience in a commercial or institutional laundry.

Responsibilities

• Collects, sorts, and loads soiled linen and garments into washer(s) and loads items into the dryer(s).
• Washes contaminated laundry in proper manner and ensures laundry is returned to its proper locations.
• Operates a variety of large and small laundry machines and tools such as ironers, dryers, folders, presses, and washers.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas and maintains good housekeeping in the laundry area.
• Lifts and carries laundry up to 80 pounds and follows infection control policies.
• Mentors new staff and communicates departmental policies.
