Job summary

The State of New Hampshire is seeking a part-time Laundry Worker to support the hospital laundry facility and related services. The role is 1st shift, 6:00am - 2:30pm, with Sundays mandatory and other days flexible. Trainee status is possible at a reduced rate with a one-year qualification period.

Starting pay ranges from $14.40 to $18.46 per hour, with a trainee option of $13.98 per hour. Minimum qualifications include 8th grade education, a valid driver’s license, and an acceptable MVR.

Qualifications

• 8th grade education is the minimum
• A valid driver’s license is required
• MVR must meet agency standards, no major violations

Responsibilities

• Operates laundry equipment (washers, dryers, folders, presses) and maintains safe operation.
• Distributes and transports linens to off-site service areas on campus.
• Maintains supplies, replaces items, and informs supervisor when to reorder.
• Performs sorting, washing, drying, and folding of linen and clothing.
• Removes waste and follows safety/health standards; sanitizes areas.
• Answers routine questions from hospital staff by phone or in person.
• Trains new personnel on procedures and safety; may lead in supervisor’s absence.
• Responds to emergencies as requested by administration.
