Job summary

The University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority is seeking a Gift Shop Assistant to join our patient-focused retail team in Madison.

This part-time 50% FTE role involves interacting with patients, families, staff and visitors, ensuring a welcoming shopping experience and supporting fundraising efforts.

Shifts are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM–7:00 PM with a rotating weekend schedule; hours may vary based on department needs. Previous retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of retail experience is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in ordering, receiving, pricing and inventory is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service and ensure a positive retail experience for patients, families, staff, and visitors.
• Support the service and fundraising goals of the shop.
• Assist the Supervisor in purchasing related tasks and decisions.
