Job summary

The Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library—Madisonville Branch is seeking a PT Homework Help & Enrichment Assistant to support youth through the Homework Help Program, offering STEAM and enrichment activities during non-academic periods to help prevent academic loss.

You will assist K-8 students with homework, teach basic study skills, and connect learners with library resources while contributing to a team that values diversity and community service.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills.
• Ability to teach and tutor youth and explain English/Math concepts.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to use library technology.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and handle library materials.
• May require working evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Answer homework questions for grades K-8.
• Review homework instructions with students.
• Proofread homework and point out improvements.
• Connect students with library resources.
• Teach and reinforce basic study skills.
• Encourage participation in enrichment activities during homework time.
• Engage youth in STEAM and enrichment activities.
• Report participation statistics to managers.
• Support the library’s mission and information access.
• Uphold library workplace policies and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
