Job summary

Medical Services of America, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time/PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for home health in Chesapeake, VA. You will work under an OTR to restore function and improve daily living skills in patients at home.

The role requires an active COTA certification, at least 1 year of COTA experience (home health preferred), and a valid driver’s license, with compensation and benefits supporting professional well-being.

Qualifications

• Current COTA certification through the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
• At least 1 year of experience as a COTA; home health experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong interpersonal and clinical skills with a patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled occupational therapy services as directed by the OTR and the care plan.
• Assist patients with activities to promote independence in daily living.
• Instruct patients and caregivers in daily living techniques and safe transfers.
• Educate on upper-extremity exercises to improve strength and function.
• Maintain and submit progress documentation within 24 hours of visits.
• Adhere to agency policies and home health best practices.
