Job summary

Medical Services of America is seeking a Part-Time/32 Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support home health patients in Bowie, Maryland. Under the supervision of an OTR, you will deliver skilled occupational therapy and help patients regain independence in daily activities.

You will educate patients and caregivers, document progress, and coordinate care across clinicians. A valid driver’s license and at least 1 year of COTA experience (home health preferred) are required.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and clinical skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled occupational therapy services as directed by the OTR and outlined in the physician’s care plan.
• Assist patients with therapeutic activities to improve independence in daily routines and self-care.
• Instruct patients and caregivers in techniques for daily living, safe transfers, and proper positioning.
• Educate clients, family members, and caregivers on exercise programs focused on upper extremity strength and function.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient progress and submit all required records within 24 hours of each visit.
• Follow all agency policies, procedures, and home health best practices.
