Job summary

Genesis Home Care is seeking a Part-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA I) to provide skilled services in patients’ homes under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The role requires documenting care, educating patients and families, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance during visits.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of PTA experience in acute or home health settings, possess a valid driver’s license, and maintain auto insurance in their name.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year PTA experience in an acute setting.
• Home care experience is desired.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians and coworkers.
• Knowledgeable on therapy best practices.
• Ability to make appropriate physical therapy judgments.
• Detail-oriented and observant.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance in your name.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled PTA services in patient’s home as prescribed by the physical therapist plan of care.
• Observe, record, and report patient reactions, changes, and progress.
• Document treatment and patient education per Medicare/Federal guidelines.
• Drive to patient locations for scheduled visits and complete visits in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the physical therapist and care team to meet patient goals.
• Educate patients and families on therapy techniques and safety.
