Job summary

Lanier Technical College is seeking an Adjunct History Instructor to teach at various campus locations. This part-time, non-benefits eligible position reports to the Associate Dean of General Education and pays a lump sum based on contact hours.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction per syllabus, developing curriculum, evaluating student progress, and maintaining grade records while meeting deadlines and safety standards. Background checks are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in History or master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in History and appropriate content from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Ability to work well with diverse students in various settings.
• Unofficial transcripts must be uploaded for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus. Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives;
• Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught;
• Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives;
• Administers and grades class examinations;
• Maintains records of student grades;
• Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed;
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas;
• Meets ALL required deadlines assigned by Supervisor;
• Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.
