Job summary

Columbia College seeks a part-time History instructor for 2026-2027 to support the History/Political Science department. The successful candidate will teach lower-division History courses, contribute to curriculum development, and promote equity and student success across campus, online, and off-campus learning opportunities.

Qualifications include a Master’s in History or related field; State Chancellor’s equivalency procedures may apply.

Qualifications

Master’s in History/Political Science or equivalent as required by the college policy.
Possession of, or eligibility for, appropriate state equivalency procedures.
Demonstrated ability to teach History/Political Science and engage diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

Teach lower-division History courses.
Develop and update curriculum to meet student needs and equity goals.
Promote student equity and success through effective instruction and assessment.
Maintain accurate records of attendance and grades and adhere to college policies.
Engage in professional development and participate in shared governance.
