Job summary

Grand Rapids Community College seeks a Professional Tutor (Mathematics) to provide direct tutoring for high school students in grades 9-12 and help oversee the Promise Zone Tutoring and Learning Center. The role supports diverse learners and may include Fall, Winter, and Summer sessions.

The position is part-time with up to 28 hours per week, offering $15.00–$20.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Posting opens 09/02/2026 and remains open until filled.

Qualifications

• Provide tutoring in high school content areas (Math) to grades 9-12.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus.
• Assist with operation of the tutoring center and supervision of students.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small group tutoring in a center or in classrooms.
• Assist the Tutorial Coordinator with center operations and trainings.
• Supervise and mentor student tutors and maintain rapport with students and staff.
