Job summary

Promise Zone Tutoring and Learning Center in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Professional Tutor (English) for up to 28 hours per week. The tutor will provide direct tutoring to high school students (grades 9-12) in English, in person or online, and help supervise operations of the center.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or higher, strong communication and tech skills (Gmail, Canvas, Blackboard), and a student-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Demonstrate content knowledge of English for tutoring.
• Experience teaching/tutoring high school students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring for English in grades 9–12 in person or online.
• Assist with center operations and scheduling.
• Mentor student tutors and promote academic success.
• Maintain FERPA compliance and coordinate with staff.
