Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time Simulation Operations Specialist to support simulation-based education and operation. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing simulators, programming scenarios, and providing technical support for multimedia peripherals.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or progress toward one, 2+ years in healthcare simulation, and proficiency with AV equipment and PC/MAC software. A driver’s license is required for regional responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or bachelor’s in progress with completion within three years of assuming role AND Two-years’ experience in a healthcare simulation OR
• Five-years’ experience in a healthcare simulation or equivalent
• Proficiency in the use of audio/visual equipment
• Proficiency with PC and MAC applications including Microsoft Office Suite
• Working knowledge of standard medical equipment and patient simulators

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for simulation operations, including preparation, maintenance, and repair of patient simulators (software and hardware) and related peripherals.
• Support the development and implementation of simulation-based education.
• Program simulator software with clinical scenario parameters.
• Ensure safe setup and breakdown of simulation environments and equipment.
• Train facilitators and other users in operational/technical aspects of simulation.
• Schedule simulation experiences and maintain organized simulation centers.
• Interface with equipment manufacturers for operation, troubleshooting and updates.
