Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Simulation Operations Specialist to provide technical support for simulation operations, including calibration, maintenance, and repair of patient simulators and peripherals. You will program scenario parameters and assist in developing simulation-based education with facilitators.

You will train simulation facilitators, schedule experiences, ensure safety, and manage supplies and data while adhering to policies and integrity standards within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or in progress with completion within three years and two years’ healthcare simulation experience, or five years’ healthcare simulation experience.
• Proficiency in audio/visual equipment usage and in PC/MAC applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of standard medical equipment and troubleshooting of patient simulators.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for simulation operations, including preparation, maintenance, and repair of patient simulators and related peripherals.
• Support development and implementation of simulation-based education and run scenarios with facilitators.
• Program simulator software with clinical scenario parameters and manage setup, breakdown, and safety.
• Train facilitators and other users in operational/technical aspects; schedule simulation experiences.
• Maintain inventory, data confidentiality, and interface with equipment manufacturers as needed.
