Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Healthcare Screener in Silver Spring, MD. This position offers reliable hours at an assigned site with the option to earn more by picking up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

You will provide customer service, screen visitors and belongings, verify identifications, and respond to incidents in a calm, professional manner while following site procedures and security guidelines.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
• At least 5 years of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigations required by law.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at a government location.
• Screen individuals, belongings, and items using screening equipment per protocols.
• Verify ID, credentials, and entry permissions; direct visitors to check-in points.
• Respond to alarms and incidents calmly and professionally; notify staff as needed.
• Document screening activities and incidents per site procedures.
