Job summary

Western Slope Health Center in Placerville, CA is seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant (Part Time) to help maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for residents and staff. The role involves basic maintenance tasks across facility, grounds, and equipment, with a focus on safety and reliability.

The position emphasizes hands-on problem solving, following schedules, and coordinating with nursing services.

Qualifications

Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work independently and accept feedback.
Strong communication with residents, families, visitors and staff.
Willingness to learn and operate maintenance tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

Follow maintenance schedules and daily work assignments.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, plastering, mechanical).
Maintain grounds, parking areas, driveways, walkways, and exterior areas.
Replace burned-out light bulbs and exit lights.
Clean windows and screens as directed.
Assist with servicing heating and cooling units per manufacturer guidelines.
Report equipment malfunctions promptly.
Coordinate maintenance with nursing services when in resident living areas.
Maintain supplies and notify supervisor when replenishment is needed.
Ensure equipment is cleaned and stored after use.
Follow safety precautions when using tools and equipment.
Assist with lifting and moving equipment and supplies as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of PHI and patient information.
