Job summary

Springfield Public Schools seeks an Education Assistant - Health Assistant at Centennial Elementary School in Springfield, Oregon. This part-time role works 6.25 hours daily, Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m.

to 3:00 p.m., supporting student health and wellbeing while assisting with health records and basic care. Primary duties include health screenings, emergency first aid, 1:1 student support, and collaboration with nurses and families to address health issues.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher; OR completion of two years post-secondary study consisting of 72 credit hours; OR high school diploma/GED with demonstrated reading/writing/mathematics instruction ability.
• CPR/First Aid card; Blood Borne Pathogen training; Oregon Food Handler's card.
• Meets rigorous standard of quality and can assist in reading/language arts, writing and mathematics or readiness.

Responsibilities

• Health records management, including immunizations and health data entry, and assist with health screenings.
• Provide 1:1 student support for academic, social/emotional, or medical needs.
• Administer basic emergency medical care and assist nurses with further care.
• Maintain medical supplies inventory and support cross-campus health services.
