Job summary

Gateway Community Services at Morgan Central HS Center in West Liberty, KY, seeks a part-time instructional assistant to support teacher goals and the classroom environment. Duties include implementing curricula, applying developmentally appropriate practices, and assisting with daily activities in a Head Start setting.

The role requires a High School diploma and may prefer a Child Development Associate or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/General Education Degree
• Child Development Associate or equivalent
• Approved Physical Exam
• Valid Kentucky driver's license, background checks and driving record requirements

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher with implementation of curricula in the classroom
• Applies knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
• Assists with daily activities (instruction, diapering/toileting, napping, mealtime)
• Maintains system for assessing and tracking child progress
• Cooperates with parents to build/home-school connections
• Maintains a safe, healthy classroom environment
• Assists in implementing IEPs and Head Start requirements
• Complies with Head Start standards and applicable laws
• Supports teacher and participates in meetings and trainings
• Monitors Head Start buses as requested
