Job summary

PHOENIX CHILD CARE & ACADEMY, INC is seeking a part-time Handyman to support the day-to-day upkeep and overall safety of our onsite facilities in Jackson, MI. You will perform routine repairs, basic maintenance tasks, and minor projects to keep the environment clean, safe, and functional for children, staff, and visitors.

You will work independently and as part of a team, addressing maintenance needs promptly, prioritizing safety, and supporting continuous facility readiness in a daycare setting.

Qualifications

• Experience performing general handyman tasks, basic repairs, or maintenance work.
• Ability to use common hand tools and safely perform job-related work.
• Strong attention to detail and a practical, problem-solving mindset.
• Reliable attendance and the ability to manage tasks in a part-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs and maintenance tasks in common areas and learning spaces.
• Mowing and trimming.
• Assist with small installations and preventative maintenance to reduce wear and downtime.
• Troubleshoot straightforward problems and complete work orders promptly.
• Monitor appearance and usability of facilities; perform minor cleaning/upkeep as directed.
• Follow safety procedures to maintain a secure onsite environment.
