The City of San Marcos is seeking a Part-Time Customer Service Specialist to join the Corky Smith Gym team. You will greet visitors, handle phone inquiries, and support daily front-desk operations with a friendly, professional demeanor.

You may also assist with graphics, scheduling, and light gym setup or maintenance as needed, while upholding city policies and providing excellent service to residents and guests.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from high school; prior customer service or clerical experience is desirable but not required.
• Strong communication, empathy, and conflict-resolution skills are expected in a public-facing role.
• Comfort with standard office software and basic digital tasks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as front counter receptionist, greet the public professionally and cheerfully.
• Answer phones, assist with scheduling and information dissemination.
• Create flyers, brochures, announcements, and basic graphics on the computer.
• Assist with gym setup/teardown of benches, bleachers, tables, and sport equipment; light cleaning as needed.
• Support special projects and maintain confidentiality and city protocols.
